Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role

Reporting to the Manager People Support and working within a newly established team of Coordinators, this position is responsible for providing high quality HR and Programme coordination for Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Work collaboratively within your close-knit team to manage the HR shared inbox.
  • Prioritise your assigned caseload and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by keeping in touch and proactively managing assigned cases through to completion.
  • Use approved templates to draft high quality HR-related paperwork including offer letters and variations.
  • Proactively manage your assigned programme portfolios on a rotational basis throughout the year.

Use your knowledge of HR theory and practice to make a real difference in our team and wider organisation. We are looking for a flexible and detail-oriented individual to work in a faced paced team with a focus on continuous improvement. It would be beneficial to have previous experience managing high volume HR coordination workloads within the public sector.

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will bring:
  • An HR-related degree or have equivalent experience working in HR coordination
  • A curious and adaptable mindset to learn and grow your HR expertise
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and resilience to support the team through a period of continuous improvement.
